A way into the pet world
The games are entertainment first. Along the way they introduce how dogs and cats play, learn, and live with people, so a shelter animal is someone you already know a little.
Welcome to the village
Dogs and cats share a painted village, and the village has a job outside the game. Play because it is fun. A share of the $5 Supporter plan, and of anything bought in the shop, is for a real shelter.
2
species, two shops
The games are the welcome. The reason for the village is the dogs and cats in real shelters, and the people looking after them.
The games are entertainment first. Along the way they introduce how dogs and cats play, learn, and live with people, so a shelter animal is someone you already know a little.
The Supporter plan is $5 a month. Twenty percent of that, and twenty percent of what you spend in the shop, is for the shelter you chose when you came in.
More of the pet world to play, a clearer picture of what shelters are up against, and that share of every plan and purchase arriving where the animals actually are.
The lobby keeps dogs and cats on the same street. Pick a door.
Dog
Burst the piñata, gather what falls
Pull back, let go, then send the dog after everything that spills into the grass.
How it plays
Dog
Endless dash through the woods
One dog, one track, no finish line. Jump the hazards and see how far the trail goes.
How it plays
Cat
Climb, and collect the beetles
A side-on climb. Take the jumps carefully and pick up every beetle on the way up.
How it plays
Cat
Wander the village as a cat
No score and no clock. Roam, get underfoot, and see what there is to knock over.
How it plays
Dog
Swap the treats, clear the bowl
Line up three. Clear the goals before the moves run out.
How it playsSome of these come from the village. Some come from real dogs and cats.
From the village
Come in as a dog and the shelves hold raincoats and ball launchers. Come in as a cat and they hold window hammocks and a laser that runs the ceiling while you are out.
From the village
Treat Match keeps an album of six pages. Finish the Town page and the prize is a Rescue, not another trophy for the shelf.
From the yard
A dog's nose print is unique, the way a fingerprint is. The wet surface helps catch the chemicals that make a scent.
From the yard
A house cat's purr usually falls between about 25 and 150 Hz. Most cats also sleep 12 to 16 hours of the day, in short stretches.
The shop is stocked in the game's own words. Prices are the village's, paid in coins from play.
60 coins
The one every shelter dog in the lobby is wearing.
50 coins
Smells appalling. Works every time.
90 coins
Carob frosting, one candle, no chocolate.
175 coins
Six hours of sunlight a day, held up by suction cups.
